B\u00e1t Tr\u00e0ng Museum Atelier (BTMA), in collaboration with T.U.N.G dining, presents the launch of the ceramic collection \u201cGiao Ch\u1ec9\u201d<\/i>, a project developed by BTMA and artist Ph\u1ea1m Ki\u1ec1u Ph\u00fac.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Set within the immersive setting of T.U.N.G dining, the event brings together ceramic practice and contemporary cuisine, offering a multi-sensory encounter where cultural memory is explored through form, material, and taste.<\/p>\r\n

The programme is hosted by Nguy\u1ec5n Phan Th\u00f9y D\u01b0\u01a1ng, Editor-in-Chief of ELLE Decoration Vietnam<\/i>. Reflecting on BTMA\u2019s trajectory, she notes that the atelier has engaged in a series of collaborations with contemporary artists, opening new dialogues between ceramics and art. Primal Forms of Memory<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Designer and artist Ph\u1ea1m Ki\u1ec1u Ph\u00fac, founder of Module 7, approaches Giao Ch\u1ec9<\/i> through personal and cultural memory. The project draws from stories passed down through her family about the physical traits of early Vietnamese people, particularly the image of the outward-turning big toe\u2014often described as a \u201clost marker\u201d of origin.<\/p>\r\n

After years spent away from urban life in H\u1ed9i An, these memories resurfaced and were translated into ceramic form. Through a restrained sculptural language, the foot motif is transformed into functional objects\u2014plates, vases, and incense holders.<\/p>\r\n

Rather than reconstructing a historical narrative, the artist explores how heritage continues to exist in the mind:<\/p>\r\n

The narrative of Giao Ch\u1ec9<\/i> continues within the setting of T.U.N.G dining, where Chef Ho\u00e0ng T\u00f9ng presents a series of contemporary dishes served on BTMA ceramics.<\/p>\r\n

A reinterpretation of traditional ph\u1edf stands out, with its elements condensed and reassembled into a new form while preserving familiar flavours. The menu highlights local ingredients such as \u0110\u00f4ng D\u01b0 guava, M\u1ed9c Ch\u00e2u strawberries, ch\u1ea9m ch\u00e9o, and Gia Lai ant salt, alongside drinks incorporating traditional Vietnamese rice spirits from R\u01b0\u1ee3u L\u00e0ng.<\/p>\r\n

The dining experience also reflects a broader commitment to local craftsmanship. Objects within the space at T.U.N.G dining<\/span>\u2014from reclaimed wood furniture by C\u1ee7i L\u0169 (H\u1ed9i An) to lacquerware coasters from H\u1ea1 Th\u00e1i and utensils made from repurposed war materials\u2014carry their own narratives, contributing to a layered cultural setting.<\/p>\r\n
