Ballerina Lamp –
The Fountain Edition

An artwork from Bát Tràng Museum Atelier, the Fountain patterns draws inspiration from traditional pottery and the nature’s power of creation to demonstrate the ceaseless flow of life. In the Fountain, plants thrive, animals rejoice, and mythical creatures hover around, all of which create a poetic and vibrant cycle of life.

In the Ballerina Lamp, the Fountain story is narrated by pottery and velvet, two contrasting yet harmonizing languages. At the dark brown base, delicatedly-carved patterns glimmer under the multilayered glaze, reminiscent to a geological depth. On the velvety shade, the Fountain manifested into lively embroidery with multilayered visual effect, where light and darkness join each other to tell the story of Origin.

Through hand-carving on pottery, the signature of Bát Tràng Museum Atelier is reflected in coats of glaze applied through color overlay method, which generated a multi-layered shade of amber. This produces a unique visual effect, where the pottery’s texture feels like lacquer in its depth and brass in its antiquity, highlighting the artwork’s structure and contemporary spirit.

Each Leap Art’s velvet lampshade, embroidered with Fountain patterns, requires around 100 hours of meticulous work by skilled artisans, who combined two traditional techniques of sewing and stitching. This epitomizes the mastery of materials, which creates exquisite textures that breath life into each illuminated pattern.

The Fountain embodies its creators’ faith in the resilient longevity of original core values that shape the new fountain of creativity in Vietnamese culture. This idea has been transformed into the artworks on the Ballerina Table Lamp, where the dance of colors, needlework and glaze encompass the energy of life.
