Each boot has been individually handcrafted, shaped like a modern boot but decorated with traditional patterns, thus creating a unique concept. Struck by the originality and creativity of this artwork, the Guinness World Records organization issued a certificate to recognize the collection as the largest ceramic boot in the country (2013).
The collar of each boot is covered with copper, while the sole is covered with a leaf design. The vamp and shaft feature a handpainted motif of peach blossoms. It took six months of meticulous work for Vu Duc Thang to complete each pair of boots. In addition to this record-breaking pair the collection include a set of 12 pairs feature engravings, painting, and glazing with enamel colors. Each pair combines different tones and materials (ceramic with bronze engraving, silver encrusted, etc.).
These ceramic boots were developed to integrate ceramic with fashion, a concept conceived by Creative Director Ha Do (Dep Magazine) for an art exhibition in the space of Dep Fashion Show 10 (2011).
