The collaboration between artist Phạm Kiều Phúc and Bát Tràng Museum Atelier (BTMA) offers a contemporary interpretation of the idea of origin, where memory is reimagined through the medium of ceramics. The Giao Chỉ collection comprises four ceramic works inspired by the distinctive Giao Chỉ foot, characterized by its outward-pointing big toe—a sculptural form that is both primal and thought-provoking.
The image of the Giao Chỉ foot, preserved in the collective memory of generations of Vietnamese people, is transformed into a centerpiece for the dining table or living space. In this new function, the work adopts a minimalist form while retaining the defining lines of its legendary original shape. Through the contemporary ceramic language of Bát Tràng Museum Atelier (BTMA), a cultural memory continues to exist in contemporary life.
