Con Vịt Collection is a collaborative collection by Bát Tràng Museum Atelier (BTMA) and Beaulo Design. Two key works in the collection—the TOGAN Lamp and the NGA NGA Vase—were developed by the creative teams at Beaulo Design and BTMA from a ceramic work by the late People’s Artisan Vũ Thắng, preserved in the collection of Bát Tràng Museum (Bat Trang Museum of Viet Soul Art).
The name TOGAN is inspired by the Vietnamese folk expression “vịt nghe sấm” (“a duck listening to thunder”), evoking a sense of quiet confidence, inner composure, and a willingness to think differently.

The composite lampshade recalls the khăn mỏ quạ, the traditional headscarf once worn by women in Northern Vietnam, bringing a familiar element of Vietnamese culture into the design.
Architect Nguyễn Hà (Beaulo Design) shares: “Con Vịt Collection was never intended to remain simply a decorative object. We wanted to use it as an object capable of shaping space.” This approach resonates with BTMA’s ongoing practice of researching traditional ceramic motifs, glazes, and techniques, and reinterpreting them through new forms and functions for contemporary life. In this way, Con Vịt Collection becomes a dialogue between the creative spirit of the previous generation and the interpretations of today’s designers.
