Held in Paris, France, featured the participation of BTMA alongside Vietnamese contemporary artists and designers through a multidisciplinary approach, the exhibition vividly narrates the story of the homeland.
The exhibition serves as a bridge between the generation that endured historical trauma and the next generation, encapsulating the story of Vietnam in miniature within a house. Through a space of dialogue and a multi-material approach—spanning visual arts, fashion design, and craft techniques—the reimagined Vietnam is highlighted in its multifaceted and thoughtful dimensions. These include its history, spirituality, growth, and future aspirations, moving beyond the frozen images often associated with war, traditional garments, and picturesque landscapes.
Location A24 Rue Beaubourg, 75003 Paris, France
Time 06/03 /2025 – 09/03/2025
Free entry 8am-6pm
Each exhibition space tells its own unique story, deeply intertwined with the artist’s personal vision of Vietnam. Trần Trọng Vũ explores memory and the invisible scars of war through representations that are both poetic and critical, while Jacqueline Lam, the young voice of an emerging generation, expresses the search for space and belonging in a globalized world. Trọng Gia Nguyễn challenges us to reflect on the notion of home, particularly in the context of the Vietnamese diaspora experience. Bát Tràng Museum Atelier reinterprets utilitarian objects through contemporary ceramics, highlighting the often-overlooked beauty of simple things. Lý Quí Khánh fuses opulence and tradition to create unique pieces symbolizing a rapidly expanding Vietnam, while Xuân Thu Nguyễn envisions haute couture as an art form, transforming adornment into a narrative rich with textile emotion. Chinh Lê explores meditation and spirituality through works that blend serenity with contemplative depth.
Bat Trang Museum Atelier brings to the VIETNAM OPENING DOORS exhibition the BLOOMING Collection, the hand-painted pattern design based on ancient ceramic patterns on the workshop’s representative works.
TOGAN lamp, the latest creation by Bat Trang Museum Atelier (BTMA) in collaboration with BEAULO by Arb Architects and designed by Architect Nguyen Ha, was unveiled at the Vietnam Opening Doors exhibition.
