The fashion story was shot on the few days before Lunar New Year’s Eve, when the spirit of tradition was high and a sense of cultural pride could be felt in all of the Vietnamese people.
The historic atmosphere of the photoshoot can be much attributed to the water pavilion of Đào Thục. Situated in Thụy Lâm, Đông Anh, Hanoi; the village of Đào Thục is one of the country’s most prominent cradles of water puppetry. Throughout its 300-year long history, the village could not have been without its renowned heritage of the water pavilion.
All and all, this fashion story aims to celebrate the beauty of traditions, from the velvet and traditional handicrafts and wears, to the gorgeous attires inspired by the charms of Cai Luong (a form of modern folk opera).
