On November 12, 2025, designer Mộc Nhu unveiled Proudly Vietnam 01, the first chapter in a long-term project celebrating Vietnamese culture through contemporary design. In this collection, fashion moves beyond personal expression to become a bridge—inviting audiences into the ceramic world shaped by the late People’s Artisan Vũ Đức Thắng, who devoted half a century to his craft.

From Ceramics to Fashion
The collection is rooted in the artistic legacy of the Bat Trang Museum of Viet Soul Art (Bát Tràng Museum)—from its archival artworks to the spaces shaped by the late artisan’s vision.

It also continues the creative spirit of Bát Tràng Museum Atelier (BTMA), the family-run ceramic studio where his signature techniques are preserved and developed: contemporary forms that narrate Vietnamese culture, multilayered glazes that create natural depth, and ongoing research in fine arts and craftsmanship.
Mộc Nhu distilled these elements and reinterpreted them in a contemporary fashion language.

Creating to Reimagine Tradition
Over nearly four months, 24 designs were crafted using intricate handmade techniques. The designer and his team experimented with beading, resin-based materials inspired by mosaic works, quilting, 3D embellishment, and printing on lurex and faux fur to express woven motifs.
To faithfully recreate the sculptural lines found in Bát Tràng ceramics—such as the iconic Pipa Vase—the team spent hundreds of hours on advanced fabric-carving embroidery and leather sculpting. These creative techniques form the visual cornerstone of the collection.

Beyond aesthetics, these methods honour the value of craftsmanship—the foundation of both ceramic art and Vietnamese cultural identity.

The collaboration between Mộc Nhu and Bát Tràng Museum Atelier reflects how a new generation of creatives continues the story of People’s Artisan Vũ Đức Thắng. Ceramic heritage does not remain behind glass; it becomes a living source of inspiration, reinterpreted through new materials, techniques and perspectives.
