The Ceramic Replica of AI ƠI Handbag inspired by the gift giving custom typical of the festive Vietnamese gatherings

The Ceramic Replica of Ai Ơi Handbag, in a collaboration between BÁT TRÀNG MUSEUM ATELIER x LUU VIETANH – was inspired by traditional Vietnamese gift baskets often seen during festive occasions. Its oversized version – painted with the “Blooming” motif  was previously showcased at LOTTE’s 2025 Tết Festival: Wave of Luck, alongside national athlete Ánh Viên.

Shot at Bát Tràng Museum, the editorial captures a poetic dialogue between heritage, architecture, and creativity. The setting – a three-room wooden house and memory-filled garden built by the late People’s Artisan Vũ Đức Thắng over 20 years ago – offers a timeless backdrop for the story.

Lộc Tứ Bình by Mộc Nhu, inspired by Vietnamese ceramics, is shown alongside BTMA’s works—both blending traditional elements with a contemporary design language.

With simplified forms and innovative materials, the designs blend traditional textures with a contemporary visual language.

Fashion Designer Mộc Nhu
A graduate of Van Lang University’s fashion design program, Mộc Nhu is known for futuristic designs that skillfully incorporate elements of Vietnamese culture. His collection Lộc Tứ Bình, inspired by ceramic art, earned him top honors for his graduation project.

At the heart of the shoot is “Blooming” – a hand-drawn, one-of-a-kind motif by BTMA. It reinterprets familiar blue-and-white ceramic patterns, featuring stylized hibiscus, lotuses, chrysanthemums, and delicate vines. These motifs tell a visual story, stitching together the memory of fired clay with a fresh artistic lens.
