In Vietnam, this journey begins at the “Heritage Zone,” a symbolic meeting point of two legacies: 700 years of Bát Tràng ceramics and nearly a century of Korean beauty science.
At the heart of the pop-up, Sulwhasoo and Bát Tràng Museum Atelier—an almost 50-year-old family-run ceramic studio—unveiled a limited-edition collaboration: a pair of embossed ceramic coasters and a Moon Jar inspired by Korea’s 19th-century Joseon Dynasty, adorned with Sulwhasoo’s iconic plum blossom motif and finished in Bát Tràng’s signature glaze.
Beyond preserving tangible heritage, the partnership is also a commitment to nurturing the people behind the craft. Sulwhasoo will support Bát Tràng Museum’s Young Talent Development Fund for one year, sponsoring research and scholarship initiatives to empower the next generation of artisans.
Bát Tràng Museum
Founded by the late People’s Artisan Vũ Thắng, Bát Tràng Museum—officially Bat Trang Museum of Viet Soul Art—is the only private museum of its kind in the historic ceramic village of Bát Tràng. Licensed by the Hanoi People’s Committee since 2016, the museum houses a rich personal collection of traditional Bát Tràng ceramics (18th–20th century), as well as the life’s work of Vũ Thắng himself, many of which are one-of-a-kind masterpieces.
Bát Tràng Museum Atelier (BTMA)
The nearly 50-year-old ceramic workshop operated by the artisan’s family continues his legacy. BTMA focuses on studying the aesthetics of traditional Vietnamese ceramics—its shapes, glazes, and decorative motifs—reinterpreting them in contemporary forms.
